Al Checco (July 21, 1925 - July 19, 2015) appeared in episodes of The Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. He was a comedy partner of Don Knotts and appeared in four of Knotts' films, The Incredible Mr. Limpet, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Reluctant Astronaut and How to Frame a Figg. His other film appearances include Hotel, The Party, Bullitt, Angel in My Pocket (with Andy Griffith), The Terminal Man, and the Disney films The World's Greatest Athlete and Pete's Dragon. He played the recurring role of Joe King on the TV series "Mister Ed".
