• When Aunt Bee picks up the lucky penny a red menu is on the wall from the "Spare Rib Tavern.” Beer is shown on the menu for 25 cents, but Mayberry is notoriously known as being a dry county.
• Charlie's nephew, Jack, is a student at the University of North Carolina.
• Charlie is from Pittsburgh and planned to move back home (Friday) had Aunt Bee not asked him to partner with her as restaurateurs.
