Summary[]
Andy faces some problems when Aunt Bee buys a second-hand car.
Plot[]
Aunt Bee decides to purchase a secondhand car from Goober Pyle and, despite lacking a driver's license, attempts to learn how to drive. Andy is initially concerned about her safety and insists that she not drive alone. However, Aunt Bee disregards his advice and, while attempting to move the car for a tree trimmer, accidentally backs into a tree, causing damage to the vehicle. Later, Andy unknowingly bumps into the same car, leading him to believe he was responsible for the dent. The episode humorously explores themes of independence and the generational gap in attitudes toward driving.
Notes/Trivia[]
- According to Floyd, the dingo dog is indigenous to Australia.
- In many of the scenes in which Aunt Bee is driving haphazardly, it is clear that it is a man in a wig and matching hat that is actually driving the car. This is especially clear when the footage is paused during many of those shots.
