Benedict Freedman (December 19, 1919 - February 24, 2012) co-wrote with John Fenton Murray two episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. He also wrote episodes of the TV series "The Mickey Rooney Show", "The Red Skelton Hour", "The Ann Sothern Show" and "My Favorite Martian". After his work in show business, he became a mathematics professor.
