- Andy tells Flora she can’t be his girl because he’s “too old.” Alberta Nelson, the actress who plays Flora also played high school reunion attendee Nettie Albright in the season 6 episode, The Return of Barney Fife. So within 7 episodes they went from being approximately the same age to having a large age difference.
- According to Andy, Goober doesn’t have a brother, however in the spin-off, Mayberry R.F.D., it is revealed that Goober has a much older brother, Braden, that works as an engineer for NASA.
