Eddie Carroll (September 5, 1933 - April 6, 2010) appeared in episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. and "The Don Knotts Show". He was the voice of Jiminy Cricket in Disney's animated featurette, Mickey's Christmas Carol and can be heard in Richard Williams' animated feature, The Thief and the Cobbler.
