George Spence appeared in one episode of The Andy Griffith Show. He first met Andy Griffith while performing in a North Carolina stage production of "The Lost Colony" on Roanoke Island. He appeared in the films The Wrong Box and The Whisperers and two episodes of "Matlock". He was interviewed in the TV episode E! True Hollywood Story: Andy of Mayberry.
