Mitch Jayne (born July 5, 1928 - August 2, 2010), a band member of The Dillards, was the bass-playing, pipe-smoking brother of the The Darling Boys on The Andy Griffith Show and in the TV movie Return to Mayberry. He co-wrote the songs "There Is a Time", "Dooley" and "Ebo Walker" with Rodney Dillard.
