Corporal Smith was a non-commissioned U.S. Marine Corps officer at Camp Henderson. He was apparently Lieutenant Swanson's Aide. In A Visit from Cousin Goober, he and Swanson were conducting an inspection of the barracks of Camp Henderson while the platoons were out on a hike. They discovered Goober Pyle dressed in PFC. Gomer Pyle's uniform and mistook Goober for Gomer. Swanson had Pyle reported for unmilitary conduct, among several other charges. In the Infobox, he is on the left in the picture.
